Santa Marina Bay
This stunning bay is the first thing visitors encounter on the eastern side of Gialos. A small beach with crystal-clear waters that gently deepen toward the rocky island at the bay’s end, where the charming chapel stands. A delightful tavern can also be found along the coast.
Agios Georgios
If you’re looking for a peaceful and secluded spot to swim, this beach is perfect for you! Bask in the sun and unwind in the natural shade of the trees. Known as Agios Georgios, Situated near Pedi Bay, the area is tranquil and remote, be sure to bring water and snacks, as there are no facilities nearby.
Nanou Beach
A breathtaking landscape filled with vibrant flowers, towering cypresses, smooth pebbles, and crystal-clear waters. This expansive bay is lacking sand, and may not be the most comfortable for families with young children. It’s also recommended to wear sturdy shoes rather than flip-flops due to the pebbles along the shoreline. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rent, and a nearby taverna offers delicious meals and refreshing drinks.
Marathounta
Indulge in the beauty of this enchanting bay, where stunning views, crystal-clear waters, and a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by pine trees await. Marathounta boasts some of the most breathtaking emerald waters on Symi. The beach is well-equipped for tourists, and its remote location offers a perfect escape, allowing you to enjoy both tranquility and natural beauty. A taverna is available for dining.
Maroni
Discover a captivating and enchanting bay, surrounded by lush trees and rocky features, with the opportunity to dive into its crystal-clear waters. Located northwest of Gialos, this charming pebbled beach is accessible only by boat. As you approach, you’ll be mesmerized by the pine trees gracefully leaning toward the sea, forming a small island. A tiny chapel can also be seen during your arrival. Enjoy the serene privacy of the beach, unwind by the waves, and embrace the peaceful atmosphere.
Agios Emilianos
Swim in the pristine cyan waters surrounding the islet and let the endless sea views transport your mind to a place of tranquility. It’s located 8km northwest of Symi’s port. A narrow strip of land connects the shore to the church of Agios Emilianos on the islet. While the beach is not organized, the breathtaking views and unique atmosphere will make for an unforgettable experience. Please note that sometimes the weather may not be ideal for the trip to Agios Emilianos, but we’ll let you know in advance if it’s not suitable to make the journey
